The author points out that a truly free person does not demand mountains of gold and silver. As long as one earns enough to live on and can cease the futile consumption of worldly affairs (as illustrated by the transition from the hexagram Water over Thunder, Tun, to Water over Lake, Jie), one can fulfill the profound, foundational aspiration of life.
